With a passion for wine and a daughter with a Masters in Enology from Virginia Tech, this family-owned vineyard and Virginia Governor's Cup winner produces outstanding wines at their scenic and historic farm nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge. Part of the Nelson 151 tour in Nelson County, Veritas has a spacious tasting room with a fireplace and comfy leather couches, as well as a large outdoor seating area with tables and chairs on a wrap-around veranda with views of the vineyard and the Blue Ridge.

Located about 8 miles southeast of Waynesboro, Veritas produces, among its exceptional wines, a spicy, toasty Saddleback Chardonnay - Governors Cup-winning Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier - a rich, smoky Claret - a cherry-like Rose that is just dry enough to produce a fleeting pucker - and two fun and popular blends, Red Star and White Star.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. The tasting room is busy on weekends but well staffed and well managed. A visit to Veritas is a gracious and memorable experience.
