Located in the Shenandoah Valley AVA about 7 miles south of Front Royal, a visit to Glen Manor Vineyards is a perfect beginning or end to a tour of the historic battlefield and downtown Front Royal. Situated on a pretty piece of land beneath the steep slopes of the western flank of the Blue Ridge, this Virginia Governors Cup winner's farm has been owned and operated by the same family for more than a century.

Glen Manor Vineyards currently produces a crisp, well-structured Morales Rose, a Cabernet Franc that possesses a lean minerality, and the T. Ruth blend of Merlot, Cabernet Frank, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard produces an exceptional Hodder Hill red blend of mostly Carbernet Sauvignon that is deep and complex with notes of ash, currant, cocoa, and tart cherry. The wonderful Petit Manseng initially surprises with flavors of bright apricot, then shifts to a tart fresh pineapple, and finishes with pith and a touch of grapefruit.

The folks at Glen Manor Vineyards are very friendly and happy to tell you all about their wines and wine-making as well as food and wine pairings. They are deeply concerned about the environment and producing wines free from use of pesticides and additives. The tasting room is cozy, and there is outdoor seating with beautiful views of the vineyards and the Skyline Drive.
